Joining the Wiki

1. Go to
2. In the “Join Now!” box, pick a username (see below), set your password, and enter your email address.
  • Remember not to include identifying information like your last name in your user name!
  • User name = Common nickname-last initial-school initials
  • Ex. Nikki-M-AVHS
3. Choose “No” when it asks “Make a Space?” (If "Step 4" is available, leave the box blank.)
4. After joining, go to your email inbox, open the confirmation email from Wikispaces, and click on the confirmation link.
5. Go to
6. Click “Join this Space” in the upper left corner, then send the message.
7. After Ms Gabse has received your email and accepted your request, you will be able to make changes to the site.

Creating your Omega Reads! Page

1. Go to
2. Click on your class link in the navigation bar on the left.
3. Click the “Edit This Page” button in the middle above the main page.
4. Type in your user name, along with the name of the book, under the other names/book titles.
5. Highlight your title (only the title!), then click the link button (earth hyperlink.gif icon) in the middle of the toolbar.
6. In the box that pops up, select “Wiki Link.”
7. Make sure the “Page Name” is the same as the information from Step 4 (title of book).
8. Click “Okay.”
9. Click the “Save” button on the right of the toolbar.
10. Click on the link to the page you just created.
11. Click the “Edit This Page” button in the middle above the main page.

Changing your username

  1. Go to "My Account."
  2. Select "Change Username."
  3. Type in your correct user name (nickname-last initial-avhs)
    • Use the nickname that Ms Gabse uses to refer to you in class.
    • Be careful! You can only change this once a month!
  4. Click "Save."
  5. Send Ms Gabse an email:
    • Click on the mail icon (envelope) in the upper right hand corner.
    • Type MsGabse in the "To" field.
    • Write a message, then click "Send."
